095 – Figure

This is something I made today while playing with the new app from Propellerhead Software, the makers of Reason. The app is called Figure and it’s very simple and basic. I think it was set up to be fun for people that don’t play or make music because it only records two measures and uses a lot of preset sounds/patterns. The project that comes up is in the key of C with a 120 bpm tempo. The challenge for me is to use apps like this to make music that escapes the ‘paint by numbers’ approach they employ. Also added was a field recording I made with the phone 2 days ago.
