065 – Migration


 
This is a piece for the 9th Disquiet Junto project. Our assignment this time was to use a guitar sample and a bird song sample to create a song. No other material could be used. We had 2 guitar samples and 2 bird song samples to choose from.
 
My goal was to push myself to do something different this week. I really struggled coming up with anything until the last possible day. I created the kick and pads from the guitar sample. The bird song was fed through some delay and a little bit of reverb. My goal here was to create something that is a nod to artists like Basic Channel, but also Burial (creating an atmosphere). I’ve never written or created music like this, so it was a fun challenge.
