Tonight I recorded my Jazzmaster into my El Capistan pedal. The signal went through this chain: Jazzmaster > El Capistan > Motu 828 > SoundHack +pitchdelay > Space Designer Reverb. When I pitched the guitar down an octave, I found that I achieved a richer sound – like a baritone guitar. Maybe one day I’ll get a baritone…jazz guitarist Pat Metheny has a great album called “One Quiet Night” which is all solo acoustic baritone guitar. I saw him a couple years ago here in Pittsburgh and he played a giant monster of a guitar called the ‘Pikasso’, which has 42 strings!

The picture for today’s post was taken in my neighborhood. I don’t know why people throw shoes to hang them on overhead power and telephone lines…it’s quite strange. I’ve heard many different explanations of why it’s done, but who really knows?
