072 – Song For Sleep


 
The 10th Disquiet Junto project has the participants looking back at the previous projects and remixing someone else’s track. I chose to use Stringbot’s track called “Failsafe Rotorplex”.
 
In the past several projects, we have not been able to use any other sounds besides the source audio files we were given, so I was excited to do this project. As I worked on it however, I decided to try to use only one new sound of my own, which is the Wurlitzer piano sound. The drums were made from some of the staccato bits in the beginning of the original track.
 
As with the other projects I have made for the Junto, this is a musical experiment. I have been trying to write music that is not usually something I would create in order to push myself. The piano key illustration was also something I created using sharpie marker on paper.
