068 – Rain & Puddle Sounds

Today, it has rained for most of the entire day.  I figured that I would take advantage of the situation and attempt a hydrophone recording of a puddle in the rain.  This recording is very different than the other ones I have made using the hydrophone.  The puddle was under a tree and not far from the street, so you can hear raindrops falling not only from the sky, but from the branches of the tree.  You will also hear cars passing by.  I used some compression on this since there was a big difference in volume between some of the drops and the overall sound.
 
The photo was taken with the app Slowshutter. I took photos of the street with a long exposure and ended up with this golden texture.
