145 – Moka (illustration)


 
This is an illustration of my favorite coffee making device, the Bialetti Moka Express. I’ve been trying different expresso roasts with it. Today, I made Cuban coffee, which I’ve never had before and you can’t get anywhere in Pittsburgh (that I know of). I watched a couple of youtube videos to learn how it’s made, including this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=StDFjab62Vs. The coffee I used was Cafe Bustelo, which is affordable and tastes great when made with this method. You basically put a little bit of the coffee into a bowl with sugar and dissolve it into a sweet paste. Then, that goes back into the coffee and you can also add a little bit of milk if you want. This is a wonderful treat that I would recommend trying out sometime.
